
Argentinian Grill Feast Recipe
This recipe captures the traditional Argentinian asado experience, featuring juicy steaks, chorizo, grilled corn, and prosciutto-wrapped asparagus.
Ingredients:
For the Grill
- Beef steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or your choice)
- Chorizo sausages
- Corn on the cob, sliced into rounds
- Asparagus
- Prosciutto or cured ham
Seasoning & Extras
- Coarse salt (preferably sea salt or rock salt)
- Black pepper
- Olive oil
- Garlic powder (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Fire
- Use hardwood and charcoal for an authentic Argentinian grilling experience.
- Let the wood burn down to embers before spreading them under the grate.
- Adjust the grill height to control the heat—lower for searing, higher for slow cooking.
2. Season & Prepare the Ingredients
- Steaks: Generously season with coarse salt and black pepper. Let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before grilling.
- Chorizo: Leave whole, as they will cook slowly and retain juices.
- Corn: Brush with olive oil, season with salt & pepper.
- Asparagus: Wrap each spear with prosciutto and place in a grill basket to prevent burning.
3. Grill to Perfection
🔥 Steaks:
- Sear over high heat for 2-3 minutes per side, then move to a cooler part of the grill to finish cooking.
- Medium-rare: 55°C (130°F), Medium: 60°C (140°F).
- Let the meat rest for 5 minutes before serving.
🔥 Chorizo:
- Cook slowly over medium heat for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally.
🔥 Corn:
- Grill for 5-7 minutes, turning frequently until charred and golden.
🔥 Prosciutto-Wrapped Asparagus:
- Place the basket over medium heat and grill for 5-7 minutes, until the prosciutto is crispy.
4. Serve & Enjoy!
Arrange everything on a large wooden board and serve with:
- Chimichurri sauce for dipping
- Fresh crusty bread
