Argentinian Grill Feast Recipe

This recipe captures the traditional Argentinian asado experience, featuring juicy steaks, chorizo, grilled corn, and prosciutto-wrapped asparagus.

Ingredients:

For the Grill

  • Beef steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or your choice)
  • Chorizo sausages
  • Corn on the cob, sliced into rounds
  • Asparagus
  • Prosciutto or cured ham

Seasoning & Extras

  • Coarse salt (preferably sea salt or rock salt)
  • Black pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Garlic powder (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Fire

  • Use hardwood and charcoal for an authentic Argentinian grilling experience.
  • Let the wood burn down to embers before spreading them under the grate.
  • Adjust the grill height to control the heat—lower for searing, higher for slow cooking.

2. Season & Prepare the Ingredients

  • Steaks: Generously season with coarse salt and black pepper. Let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before grilling.
  • Chorizo: Leave whole, as they will cook slowly and retain juices.
  • Corn: Brush with olive oil, season with salt & pepper.
  • Asparagus: Wrap each spear with prosciutto and place in a grill basket to prevent burning.

3. Grill to Perfection

🔥 Steaks:

  • Sear over high heat for 2-3 minutes per side, then move to a cooler part of the grill to finish cooking.
  • Medium-rare: 55°C (130°F), Medium: 60°C (140°F).
  • Let the meat rest for 5 minutes before serving.

🔥 Chorizo:

  • Cook slowly over medium heat for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally.

🔥 Corn:

  • Grill for 5-7 minutes, turning frequently until charred and golden.

🔥 Prosciutto-Wrapped Asparagus:

  • Place the basket over medium heat and grill for 5-7 minutes, until the prosciutto is crispy.

4. Serve & Enjoy!

Arrange everything on a large wooden board and serve with:

  • Chimichurri sauce for dipping
  • Fresh crusty bread
  • A glass of Malbec wine 🍷

This meal is perfect for sharing with friends & family, just like a real Argentinian asado!
