Asado Wok Ring
Hold a Wok Steady Over the Asado Fire
The Asado Wok Ring mounts to the adjustable grates of the Asado Gaucho 1200, 1000, and XXL, and holds your wok level and stable over the fire. A round-bottomed wok placed directly on a V-grate will rock and tip. The ring holds it in place so you can cook without managing the wok balance at the same time.
Cooking with a wok over a live fire is different from a kitchen burner. The heat output is higher, and the flame character gives you the temperature needed for a real stir-fry, where the wok is genuinely hot across the whole bowl, not just the bottom. Fried rice, stir-fried vegetables, and sauces that need consistent high heat all benefit from this.
Installation
The ring sits on the V-grates at whatever height you set them. Lower the grates toward the fire for higher heat, raise them for a more moderate temperature. The same approach you use for everything else on the Asado Gaucho. No additional tools or attachments needed.
The Omberg Cast Iron Wok 36 cm fits the ring well. Cast iron holds heat after it leaves the fire, which is useful when you finish cooking and want to bring the wok to the table still hot.
